How Can the Community Get Involved?

The best way for community members to get involved is through our Doula's for All Program. One Birth continuously strives to become a sustainable program, while being community accessible. Our Doula's for All Program allows us to do both.

Here's the process:

Expecting mother's and their partners call One Birth to help find them a doula. One Birth will then find a doula that matches your personality. After your initial interview, you will have another meeting with your doula to answer questions and arrange your birthing plan. Your doula will be in continuous contact with you up until your birth to check-in around new information learned at pre-natal visits and also to help give you information to make your pre-natal period as comfortable as possible. When your day arrives, your doula will meet you at your place of birth and begin her doula work continously throughout the birth and up to two hours after.

Doulas have agreed to provide this service pro bono to One Birth, which means any payment rendered for doula services will be donated to One Birth. It is a win-win for all. Expecting families get the wonderful support of a doula, while allocating money for others to have the equal chance for doula services through One Birth.

*Post-Partum Doula Services are also available.

ROSWELL, Georgia (CNN) -- The lights were dimmed, soft music was playing and a scented candle burned on the counter. In the center of it all was Julie Trotter -- moaning through hard labor contractions.
